The Permit is a sight caster’s dream. Caught both in the shallow grass flats of tropic and subtropic waters, as well as in water from 50-200 ft. on wrecks and artificial structure, these fish school up looking for a small crab or crustacean to munch on. The permit has a sleek body design and a large forked tail making them very powerful fish. Most sportsmen consider this a “catch and release” fish, however, they are also a quality meal fish with firm white meat.
